Help Connect the La Jagua de Ibirico Community to the World through English Lessons

Meet the people of La Jagua de Ibirco, a rural community in Cesar, Columbia.

Avasek’s President, David Humphreys, was able to meet the families of this town during his travels. He learned about their way of living and strong family values. He also noted that this tight-knit community has minimal opportunities for work beyond coal mining and agriculture. Families will often travel far distances for short-term work opportunities – taking them away from their family for days at a time. With an average income of $542 per person / per month, not knowing the English language has limited opportunities outside La Jagua.

We can pave the way to a brighter future through English education, empowering the community to expand their remote opportunities in an increasingly connected world.

An English education will deliver a chance to explore different industries and expand skills and salaries. Help provide new opportunities to this charming community with a donation today. Funds will be used to hire teachers and expand class offerings.

Help transform lives in a rural community by giving them the tools and confidence they need to achieve their goals.
